I have worked quite a bit on a slaughterhouse floor and none of it has bothered me. But this, yes it makes nauseated to think about it. And I got some pictures of me on the slaughterhouse floor if we have some doubters here.  ;D

The cleaning of wounds with maggots doesn't use screw worm fly maggots. The maggots used are the blow fly maggots. They only eat dead tissue. The screw worm fly maggot only eats live tissue.

Mark, thanks for the correction. Been 45 years since I dug screw worms out of a navel. Still remember that ol Smear 62. They were the scourge of the livestock industry.
