What to do with Lye Bath disposal
« on: April 30, 2015, 03:02:43 PM »
Right know I live where I can just pour it down the drain and it goes into city sewer system.

There is a good possibility I will be buying another house and moving to the country. Houses I have looked at so far are all on septic systems. I know you don't pour 14 gallons of lye bath in a septic system . Is there anybody out there that can tell me what they do in a situation like this? I would like to keep using a lye bath to do a first claen on the iron before it goes to electro bath.

Hi Mark,

The most recent Casting Call Newsletter has some very good information on this subject.

Volume 12.1 on the Casting Call Thread (Sticky at top of this board).  Link will only work for WAGS members. :)

I want to thank Jeff Friend for an excellent article which almost all WAGS members will find useful.
