My new electro setup--------
« on: July 20, 2007, 07:02:43 PM »
I finally go my new electro setup. I used a stainless dryer drum and the old blue drum. I haven't had a chance to fire it up maybe tomorrow.

I fired it up today. There were alot of bubbles moving around. I noticed there was a high pitched hum coming out of there also. I only had time to let it run for a couple of hours but it seems to be working.

I am glad to hear that. Wait until the results come out.

Looks good MD. Same style set  up I use, exact same charger. I too get the buzzing/hum sound. Should work great. Let us know how the SS dryer drum holds up, it's perfect for the barrel set up.  Thanks,, Ed

So far so good. I have cleaned 2 skillets, 1 trivet, and I have a W/I base in there now. It seems to be working great. I am using that stainless steel pipe on top. I hook up the pieces with a chain, sometimes 2 at a time. The chain gets very very hot. One must be careful or get burn't.

I also used a chain at one point and found like you that it got very hot.  I now use various hooks made out of heavy wire and some times get a little heating but nothing like the chain.

The trouble with a chain is every joint has some resistance and heating occurs at the top and bottom of each link.

I use copper tubing to suspend my pieces. Lasts a long time, doesn't get hot, AND I can bend and manipulate it to best position the piece I am cleaning.
