Hi everyone from Iowa
« on: May 03, 2020, 11:19:55 PM »
Glad to be a part of this fascinating forum.

I started buying Lodge cast iron cookware about 12 years ago to cook with. I am not a collector (yet, lol) but all my CI cooks for my family on our stove top, in the oven, as well as over and between coals. At home or camp.

It seems my early purchases were lucky to still be the smooth Lodge cooking surfaces before the pebbled ones. Also will probably ask a few questions of older pieces I have stumbled upon over the years.

Looking forward to learning, contributing, asking a few questions plus share a few pictures a long the way.  :)

Joe

Joe, Howdy from down in Texas! GREAT [smiley=thumbsup.gif] to have you here with us at WAGS. That old Lodge was some great iron and have a good bit of it myself. Make yourself at home and don't be bashful! [smiley=welcome.gif]

Welcome to the Forum, Joe, from another Iowan.  You live  in a beautiful area of the state, one of my favorite parts.

I have several of the older smooth-finished Lodge pieces myself and love, love, love them... great iron!  Do you have any of their early hammered pieces?  I think by far it was the prettiest made during that era.

Again, welcome, glad you're visiting us!
