2016 WAGS Camp Oven Cookout
« on: September 29, 2016, 11:46:00 PM »
A few pics tonight and more forthcoming.  The team of 7 cooks put out a feast for the members tonight using 19 camp ovens.  Menu consisted of

Lasagna by Larry Pesek
Ratatouille and Red Potatoes by Randy Eckstein
Cornbread by Dwayne Henson
Stuffed Peppers by Stuart Lowery
Meatloaf by Scott Sanders
Jambalaya by Daniel McDowell
BBQ Pork Ribs and Baked Beans by Roger Barfield
Chocolate Dump Cake and Apple Pear Cobbler by Randy Eckstein
Throw in some cole slaw and rolls and about 40 people got stuffed to the gills.

First pic is one of Scott's two meatloafs, second pic is Stuart attending to one of 3 ovens of stuffed peppers and third pic is Larry Pesek working on his 2 ovens of lasagna

Thanks for the pictures and the update Randy. It looks like everyone is having a good time. In Michigan this time of year you are liable to get any kind of weather, including snow.  :o

Perry, sure wish you could have made it.  Would've liked to meet you in person finally!

Hello Dwayne. I wish I was able to make it there also. But I just couldn't get it done. Don't give up on me though.  :)

Larry Pesek was a great addition to the team this year and you could tell by his set up it wasn't his first cooking rodeo.  Very impressive tool chest setup for smallwares and the volcano style burners for quicker cooking were cool (okay really hot!) too.  Whichever Scout troup you are associated with hopefully realizes what an asset they have.
