So if I read the patent application correctly this document establishes that BS&R used the Red Mountain trade mark that they submitted to the patent office since Jan 1,1922 on wood, coal, oil or gas stoves and ranges and other heating, lighting and ventilating apparatus. And that they used it on paper labels and cast into the item.

So I guess the question is when did they start using it on their hollow ware.

This letter also deals with a specific label design so was the Red Mountain designation used prior to Jan 1,1922 in a different style label or is that the first time that Red Mountain was used by BS&R

Well.... They state the first use as Jan. 1, 1922 so I would accept that as correct.

The information we have gathered to date, indicates that it was not used on/with the Holloware until the 1930's.  We continue to research to try to pinpoint the exact year of introduction.  Smiley Dwayne and I think we are getting 'closer' to being able to do that... possibly, maybe...  Wink Roll Eyes

Not trying to be argumentative but the application deals with a specific trade mark shown in the attached drawing, unfortunately that drawing is not attached. So I was basically inquiring if they may have used the Red Mountain designation in a different mark.

I think all of the work you folks are doing is fantastic and in no way was my comment meant to be other than inquisitive

I have never seen a cast in mark (I would assume that may have been on stoves)....

Check the original labels on the Members BSR Board.... there are a few there I believe... Smiley

They used a Red Knight as the symbol of Red Mountain. I wil get one posted. I have never seen Red Mountain cast on cookware, I would look at advertising ashtrays as those "Might" read the word, might, be an item they would cast Red Mountain on. If one finds an item cast Red Mountain that would be cool to see. I think typically it would be found on
Stoves or ranges. I have a 70's or 80s calendar showing a Red Mountain Range. What in my mind is important is this gives us yet another piece of data to help date Red Mountain cookware.

In saying all this, it is always within the realm of possibility that a BS&R catalog from  the 20's could show up labeled Red Mountain. But what everyone is calling RM, the 3S-14 skillets  and the DO's so far in the catalogs first show in the 1930's.

Somewhere on this site and I can't find it now was a catalog and in the catalog was a BSR/ASW stove that had RedMont cast into the front of it, I am guessing this is an offshoot of their Red Mountain trademark.

Curiously I googled RedMont and got a hit on RedMont Gardens Birmingham Al.
